Kota Kinabalu: Member of Parliament for Kalabakan, Mamun Sulaiman, called on Malaysia’s Special Envoy to BIMP-EAGA, Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia to help to resolve the Malaysia-Indonesia dispute over the Ambalat sea block.
Pandikar did not respond when Wisdom Foundation chairman and moderator Datuk Seri Wilfred Matius Tangau offered the opportunity to do so at the Wisdom Foundation organised webinar question and answer session themed: “The Birth of Nusantara”, recently.
It was reported that the Ambalat block boundary dispute arose largely because Indonesia had claimed sovereign rights over it in 1969, including all minerals and other living and non-living resources from Malaysia’s overlapping claims to sovereign rights in the same oil-rich Ambalat region in the Sulawesi (Celebes) Sea.
