Southampton are closing on a deal for Bologna midfielder Mattias Svanberg.
Svanberg, 23, has only one year left on his contract with Bologna.
He has been linked with Serie A rivals Fiorentina and Napoli.
But the 23-year-old is now being placed at Southampton and La Gazzetta dello Sport says the Premier League club have placed a bid.
Southampton have offered €10m for Swede, knowing Bologna is ready to sell.
