BILD says Blues scout Nassim Banoua was in attendance to see Hertha face Karlsruhe.
Hertha trio Marvin Plattenhardt, Davie Selke and Karim Rekik were all on the agenda of Banoua.
Rekik is a former Manchester City defender.
And Schalke would be willing to sell any of the three for the right offer.
