Athletic Bilbao sports chief Rafa Alkorta insists Manchester United's interest didn't spark their move for Inaki Williams.
The striker penned a staggering nine-year contract with Bilbao on Monday, having been linked with United last week.
Alkorta said, The renewal was already settled and it was finished before last week when the rumours of Manchester began to come out.
"We had been talking with Iaki since January, which has not been a reaction for information that, in addition, we do not know if it is true, because we have not received at any time anything from any team from the Premier or the rest of Europe."
