Datuk Ab Ghani Hassan has been elected as the new president of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) for the remainder of the 2025-2029 term
PETALING JAYA: Datuk Ab Ghani Hassan was today elected as the president of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) for the remainder of the 2025-2029 term at the FAM Executive Committee Election held during the Second FAM Extraordinary Congress 2026 here.
Malaysian Football League (MFL) president Ab Ghani secured 20 votes to defeat Football Association of Selangor (FAS) deputy president Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar, who received five votes, in a straight fight for the president’s post.
The election was held to reconstitute FAM’s leadership after the entire FAM Executive Committee for the 2025-2029 term resigned en masse in January.
