Aboitiz Power unit to supply Proterial

ADVENT Upgrade Solar Inc., a unit of Aboitiz Power Corp., said Friday that it had signed a 20-year power supply agreement with Proterial Philippines Inc. covering a facility in Batangas.

"We are incredibly proud to partner with Proterial Philippines Inc. on what is the very first ground-mounted solar facility in LIMA Estate,” Advent Upgrade Chairman Ruth Yu-Owen said in a statement.

Proterial President Yoshiaki Yamashita, meanwhile, said that "through this collaboration, we are taking a meaningful step toward reducing our carbon footprint, enhancing energy efficiency, and contributing to the country's transition to a more sustainable energy landscape.”

Power will come from a 1,587.20 kilowatt-peak (kWp) ground-mounted solar photovoltaic system that will be constructed inside Proterial's manufacturing facility.

The facility is scheduled to start operations in the first quarter of next year.
