TAWAU: Two men were injured in an accident involving two vehicles—a Proton Saga and a motorcycle —on Jalan Kuhara early Sunday morning.

Tawau Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Chief, Jemishin Ujin, said the 37-year-old car driver and 33-year-old motorcyclist refused to be taken to the hospital.

He said both victims, who sustained minor injuries, received initial treatment from the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) team and Ministry of Health medical officers.

According to him, the fire department received an emergency call regarding the accident at 3.26am via MERS999 and arrived at the scene in two minutes.

“A team of eight personnel along with two fire engines was immediately dispatched to the location to carry out rescue operations,” he said in a media statement on Sunday.

The operation ended at 3.40 am after ensuring there were no further hazards at the scene.
