At the latest launch event, Acer has officially revealed several new additions to its gaming lineup for both the Predator and Nitro families.
Leading the launch is the Predator Helios Neo 16, which sits in Acer’s mid-to-high-end gaming laptop category and can be configured with an Intel Core i7 processor alongside an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU. The machine also packs a 16-inch 16:10 IPS display that goes up to WQXGA+ resolution with a 180Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, and full 100% sRGB colour coverage, so Acer is clearly positioning it for both gaming and content-focused workloads at the same time.
Cooling is handled by Acer’s 5th Gen AeroBlade 3D fan system, while networking gets Killer Wi-Fi 6E and 2.5G Ethernet through DoubleShot Pro to help reduce latency during online gaming sessions. Acer also bundled in DTS:X Ultra, Hi-Res Audio certification, and AI-powered noise reduction through PurifiedVoice, which makes the whole package feel more tuned toward streaming, voice chat, and multiplayer use rather than just raw gaming specs alone.
On the desktop side, Acer also refreshed the Predator Orion 5000 prebuilt gaming PC with an Intel Core Ultra 7 265F processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics combination. The system comes paired with DDR5-6000 memory that can be expanded up to 128GB, alongside a 1TB PCIe SSD with additional SATA and M.2 expansion options for future upgrades.
The entire setup sits inside a 45-litre chassis made with 65% post-consumer recycled plastic, while cooling is managed through Acer’s Predator CycloneX 360 airflow design that uses strategically positioned fans to improve thermal performance. Connectivity also gets a bump to Wi-Fi 7, which is becoming increasingly common across newer gaming hardware launches this year.
Acer also updated its gaming monitor lineup with the Predator XB273U X2, a 27-inch QHD IPS display capable of reaching a 210Hz overclocked refresh rate while maintaining a 0.5ms response time. That combination pretty much targets the sweet spot for gamers who want sharper 1440p visuals without giving up the responsiveness needed for competitive titles.
For users who prefer something more portable, the Nitro PG241Y P1 portable monitor can be your next purchase, as it uses a 23.8-inch 144Hz IPS panel, connects over USB-C, and includes a built-in kickstand, which makes it more suited for users who frequently move between setups, secondary workspaces, or gaming on the go.
