MANILA, Philippines — Kapuso actress Glaiza de Castro is bidding goodbye to her vacation home in Baler, Aurora, after eight years of creating memories with her family.
De Castro announced on Instagram Friday that they were putting the two-story home up for sale as their priorities shift and new plans for the future take shape.
She bought the property in 2018 as a place where her family could “escape and slow down.” Over the years, the home became a gathering place for birthdays, celebrations, long weekends and simple family moments. During the pandemic, De Castro and her family spent more time in Baler, deepening her appreciation for the province and its slower pace of life.
The house eventually became a family project. They made improvements, created spaces for guests and later opened the property through Airbnb.
“After much thought, we feel that it is time to let this special place begin a new chapter with another family,” De Castro wrote.
She said she was leaving the property with some sadness but with gratitude for the memories they made there.
De Castro also expressed hope that its next owner would see the home’s warmth, character and potential.
The actress is married to Irish businessman David Rainey. The couple first tied the knot in Ireland in 2021 and held a second wedding in Zambales in 2023.
They also opened Brewboxbaler, a cafe in Baler, in 2023, but it closed the following year.
De Castro and Rainey are expecting their first child this year.
