MANILA, Philippines — The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Tuesday briefed President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on the military’s operational accomplishments and campaign plans during its first-semester 2026 Command Conference at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City.
Malacañang noted that the Commander-in-Chief received updates on the AFP’s ongoing operations, strategic initiatives and key programs aimed at strengthening national security and building what the military described as a “resilient and secure archipelago” through coordinated government efforts.
Senior military officials, led by Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr., presented the AFP’s accomplishments over the past year and outlined priorities, initiatives and operational objectives for the coming months.
The command conference, also attended by the AFP’s senior leadership as well as Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr., serves as the military’s periodic campaign review, where the AFP reports on the implementation of its campaign plan, evaluates operational gains and discusses strategies for addressing emerging security challenges.
It likewise underscores the administration’s continued commitment to supporting a modern, capable, and mission-ready Armed Forces that upholds national sovereignty, protects the country’s territorial integrity, and helps ensure lasting peace and security for all Filipinos.
Earlier, Brawner said the military’s campaign is focused on building a resilient and secure archipelago through synchronized efforts across the government and the broader security sector.
