Jerrick Ahanmisi exploded for his best game so far in a San Miguel uniform as he led the Beermen to a clinical 143-105 flattening of Titan Ultra in their PBA Season 50 Governors’ Cup game on Wednesday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Malate, Manila..
Ahanmisi, acquired in a swap that sent Juami Tiongson back to Terrafirma, banged in 26 points on a 10-of-15 shooting to power the Beermen to a 4-1 win-loss record.
The win was a huge bounce back following a 110-96 loss to the NLEX Road Warriors on Sunday.
Import George King got his usual high-scoring night to finish with 35 points, along with eight rebounds and eight assists for San Miguel.
Titan Ultra continued its free-fall, slumping to 1-5 in the team standings.
The Beermen tore the game apart behind a 49-23 exchange in a massive third quarter effort after just holding on to a three-point lead.
“It was a game of runs. It’s really difficult knowing (what) Titan can do,” San Miguel lead assistant coach Peter Martin during the post-game chat with media.
Don Trollano finished with 22 points while Marcio Lassiter had 13.
Joshua Munzo lef Titan Ultra with 25 points, Bryan Sajonia 19, but import Tirrell Brown only scored 15 on a 4-of-13 shooting.
