MANILA, Philippines — Import George King delivered the crucial baskets in the last period to lift San Miguel Beer to a pulsating 109-104 victory against Terrafirma to stay unbeaten in the PBA Season 50 Governors’ Cup at the Ynares Center on Saturday.
The sweet-shooting American tossed in nine of his 37 points in the last period to save the Beermen from the jaws of defeat.
King added 14 rebounds to make up fot his six turnovers.
CJ Perez added 22, Don Trollano chipped in 17, while Jerrick Ahanmisi scored nine, grabbed foir rebounds and issued six assists in his first game against Terrafirma since being traded to the Beermen during the conference break.
SMB moved up to 2-0, behind Group A leaders NLEX and Converge, which are tied atop the standings at 3-0.
Justin Strings scored 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds while Juami Tiongson had 27, six boards and seven assists for the Dyip.
Terrafirma dropped to 1-3.
