Alas Pilipinas bows to Cambodia in Leg 2 of SEA V.Cup

MANILA, Philippines — The Alas Pilipinas men’s national volleyball team put up a fight against Cambodia but fell in a tightly fought match, 20,-25, 21-25, 24-26, in the sixth Southeast Asian (SEA) V.Cup Leg 2 opener on Thursday night in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Alas Pilipinas just could not get over the hump agsinst Cambodia following a five-set loss in Leg 1, 23-25, 30-28, 20-25, 25-22, 8-15, in Candon, Ilocos Sur.

This time, the first-leg silver-medal finishers figured out the Filipinos quickly and won in straight sets.

Jude Garcia and Joshua Magalaman led the scoring for the Philippines after chipping in 14 points each.

Veasna Voeurn led the scoring for Cambodia with 27 points.

The Philippines will try to beat host Indonesia on Friday to keep its hopes alive of making it to the semifinals.
