MANILA, Philippines — After her round of 16 finish in her tournament debut at the BNP Paribas Open, Alex Eala is expected to crack the top 30 and hit a new career-high in the WTA official rankings.

Eala already seized a career-best 28th place in the live rankings, but this was not reflected in the official ones last Monday since the 1000-tier Indian Wells is still not finished.

Once completed on March 15, the WTA is expected to update its official rankings on the 16th with Eala likely to crack the top 30, eclipsing her previous high of 31st and current rank of 32nd.

Eala ended her Indian Wells campaign with a 2-6, 0-6 loss to Czech Linda Noskova Wednesday noon in Manila.
