
MANILA, Philippines — Alex Eala will swing back to action for the North American hard-court swing starting with the Mubadala DC Open slated from July 27 to August 2 in Washington D.C., United States.
The lefty netter will compete in the singles and doubles competition of the 500-tier meet, which kickstarts her buildup for the final major that is the US Open set from August 30 to September 13.
In Mubadala doubles, Eala will reunite with American legend Venus Williams as they received a wildcard entry.
Eala and the 46-year-old Williams first teamed up at the Bad Homburg Open in Germany where they reached the quarterfinals last month.
Eala and Williams defeated Alexandra Osborne and Catherine Harrison in the first round (round of 16), 6-3, 6-4, before falling to Olivia Nicholls and Tereza Mihalikova, 3-6, 2-6, in the quarters.
