MANILA, Philippines — Alex Eala climbs to No. 28 in WTA live rankings after reaching third round of BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California.

The Filipino tennis star is expected to achieve a new career-high following her victory over Ukraine’s Dayana Yastremska, 7-5, 4-6, 7-5, on Saturday.

  At present, Eala is ranked 32nd, according to the WTA’s official website.

  As of posting time, she will again face her former doubles partner and World No. 4 Coco Gauff in the Round of 32 of the Indian Wells Masters.
