MANILA, Philippines — Alex Eala secured $89,700 or more than P5.4 million in prize money from her WTA 1000 National Bank Open campaign in Toronto, Canada.
The Filipino ace earned $81,800 for a singles fourth-round finish and a share of $7,900 for her first-round doubles campaign with American Venus Williams.
Eala ended her campaign on Monday with a 4-6, 0-6 loss to Swiss Belinda Bencic in the singles fourth round.
Last Friday, Eala and Williams fell to the Russian-Japanese duo of Liudmila Samsonova and Miyu Kato, 4-6, 3-6, in the doubles first round.
Eala will next compete at another 1000-tier competition, the Cincinnati Open which runs from August 13 to 23.
