- Alison Hammond was forced to leave a live broadcast of This Morning on Friday, 2 October, after falling ill.
- Co-host Dermot O'Leary informed viewers after an advert break that Hammond had to duck out as she was feeling unwell.
- Hammond, 51, later shared an Instagram story from a hospital bed, explaining that she was having her heart checked; the video was captioned “anything to have a day off work”.
- “I had a little bit of a palpitation, and now I'm getting it all checked out, but I think I'm okay. I'm hoping it was just a little panic attack or something like that,” she said.
- Hammond went on to joke that she still looked “lush”, as she still had her TV make-up on, and was “rocking” her hospital gown.
