All-Star MVP Bella Belen soaks up teaming up with league veterans

MANILA, Philippines — Super rookie Bella Belen initially could not believe she made it into the first 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Star cast… And then she finished as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the event/

The 2026 PVL All-Filipino Rookie of the Conference and Best Outside Spiker showed out for Team Heart after chipping in 15 points.

Belen previously told the media that she was not expecting to be named to the All-Star team, since she is still a rookie and has not proven anything yet in the league—but she was grateful that fans recognized all her hard work in volleyball.

Playing with veterans like Alyssa Valdez, Myla Pablo, Jema Galanza and Jia De Guzman, she was grateful for the opportunity.

“Of course, as a rookie, I don't really see myself at that level yet. I feel like I still have so much to learn from them because even if I can keep up in terms of skills, what they bring to the court during a game is just different,” Belen shared.

Philippine volleyball icon Valdez looked at Belen while she was sharing her statement and said: “Bella, stop, you know.”

“You can really see their veteran experience, especially from my perspective. I’m truly learning a lot from them. So, I’m just really thankful to be part of Team Heart,” she added.

The Capital 1 star also had the experience of being a line judge and expressed that she’s happy to be able to interact with fans.

“There you go—we’re happy because we were able to interact with the fans. On our part, it’s really heartwarming to see the fans enjoying themselves.”

“So yeah, we’re very happy, especially me, because it’s my first time being teammates with Ate Myla and Ate Aly."

Team Heart won 100,000 pesos, while Team Hustle settled for the runner-up finish and took home 50,000 pesos as a consolation prize.
