Myla Pablo comfortable playing under coach Rald Ricafort

CANDON, Ilocos Sur — They say the person who understands you best is the one who supports you the most—and for Myla Pablo, playing under head coach Rald Ricafort in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Star match proved exactly that.

Pablo seemingly made her relationship with Ricafort public in lighthearted fashion, playfully teasing and pointing him out every time she scored for Team Heart.

“Coach Rald knows my playing style well because we used to go up against each other back when I was with PLDT. You can really feel his trust in you when you’re on the court,” she told reporters after Team Heart’s win over Team Hustle on May 1.

The former league MVP delivered an all-out performance in Candon City, finishing with 14 points.

“That’s what made everything work and allowed me to play at my best—his trust, his love, and his heart,” Pablo added, as teammates Bella Belen and Alyssa Valdez reacted with delight.

Pablo previously shared a championship with Ricafort during the 2022 PVL Reinforced Conference and has also won two titles with the Petro Gazz Angels.

She also embraced the opportunity to play alongside All-Star MVP Bella Belen for the first time, while reuniting with Alyssa Valdez.

“Of course, there’s Ate Aly—this is actually my second time being her teammate, first in the Under-23 and now again. It’s also my first time playing alongside Bella. It’s really fun because we have younger players on the court, and as veterans, we’re there to guide them during the game,” she said.
