Negeri Sembilan PH chairman Aminuddin Harun says he has no regrets over losing the Linggi seat in the state election.

SEREMBAN: Negeri Sembilan Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said he has no regrets about contesting the Linggi seat in the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election.

He said he accepted the people’s mandate with an open heart, describing defeat as part and parcel of politics.

“I said from the very beginning…even if I had contested in Sikamat, I might still have lost. Wherever I contested, I could have lost. What matters to me is not whether I win or lose…I have no regrets.

“I am grateful that I had the opportunity to nurture a generation of people who are willing to think,” he told a press conference at the PH command centre here last night.

Aminuddin said that since the state assembly was dissolved, the final verdict had been left to the people to evaluate his performance as Menteri Besar based on the report card for the eight years he led the state government.

He said Negeri Sembilan PH would continue to play its role as a constructive opposition through the 11 seats it had won by ensuring all its elected representatives continued serving and engaging with the people.

He also expressed hope that the new government would continue with the good policies and initiatives introduced for the benefit of the state.

Based on the unofficial results, Aminuddin, who is also Port Dickson MP, lost the Linggi seat to incumbent Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli of Barisan Nasional (BN).
