BN wins Linggi seat with 2,976-vote majority

SEREMBAN – Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli has won the Linggi state seat in the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election.

Faizal polled 9,139 votes, defeating Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate state caretaker Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, who garnered 6,163 votes.

Meanwhile, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) candidate Datuk Zamri Md Said received 391 votes.

This gave BN a majority of 2,976 votes in the Linggi seat.

The result saw Aminuddin losing the seat after he decided to contest in Linggi, following his previous tenure as the assemblyman for Sikamat, which had been regarded as his stronghold since 2008.
