A man was allegedly killed by his nephew at Jaura village, falling under the Sarhali police station, on Saturday.
A land dispute was said to be the reason behind the incident.
Patti DSP Ravisher Singh said the victim was identified as Balbir Singh (55). The officer said Balbir Singh was working in his fields this morning when his nephew Surjit Singh and his wife Harjit Kaur suddenly attacked him with sharp weapons, resulting in serious injuries to him.
He was immediately admitted to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
