MOTORISTS are advised to expect traffic slowdown and road adjustments around the EDSA People Power Monument area on Sunday, June 28, as the White Ribbon Movement (WRM) holds a prayer and indignation rally calling for accountability, justice, and reforms in public governance.
The Quezon City government said traffic may slow down on EDSA, Katipunan Avenue, Ortigas Avenue, White Plains Avenue, and Temple Drive from 12 noon to 6 p.m. due to the expected gathering.
A zipper lane scheme will be implemented on White Plains Avenue between EDSA and Katipunan Avenue from 6 a.m. to 12 noon as part of traffic preparations.
White Plains Avenue from Katipunan Avenue to EDSA on the Camp Aguinaldo side will also be temporarily closed during the rally.
The city government said personnel from the Traffic and Transport Management Department, Department of Public Order and Safety, Task Force Disiplina, Quezon City Police District, and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority will be deployed to manage traffic conditions.
Motorists were advised to take alternate routes to avoid possible delays.
The rally, organized by religious and civil society groups, is a faith-based, non-partisan activity that seeks to raise concerns over corruption and push for greater accountability in government.
