In a recent thought-provoking critique, Azmin Ali, the information chief of Perikatan Nasional (PN), has raised a pressing question that resonates with many Malaysians: Why do we continue to be deceived by Anwar Ibrahim?

Azmin's recent denunciation of the Prime Minister and his critique of Anwar's actions demand our earnest contemplation.

He accuses Anwar of compromising his principles when Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's trial was inexplicably discontinued, laying the blame squarely on the Attorney General and the courts This departure from Anwar's previously unwavering commitment to justice and accountability raises serious concerns.

Furthermore, Azmin has castigated leaders within Pakatan Harapan (PH) for their silence on this matter, highlighting the discrepancy between their values and Anwar's purported principles when he was vying for the premiership.

He aptly underscores the importance of upholding the principles that form the core of their political struggle – principles such as the rejection of corruption, theft, and bribery. This brings into question the integrity of leadership and the sacrifices made in the pursuit of political power.

Azmin, once a staunch supporter of Anwar, challenges the wisdom of sacrificing these principles and appointing individuals of questionable integrity to positions of authority. He calls on the nation to reflect upon whether they are willing to continue being deceived by the current government.

Employing a sarcastic portmanteau, "Madanon," blending Anwar's "Madani" slogan with the pejorative term "Bang Non" used by Anwar's critics, Azmin drives home the perceived hypocrisy and the gravity of his concerns.

Syed Saddiq has also raised the issue of hypocrisy among government MPs who, once staunchly opposed similar issues while in opposition, now remain silent over the discontinuation of Zahid Hamidi's trial.

Azmin concludes by extending an invitation to his friends in Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) to join PN, emphasizing that PN promises to safeguard the future of Malays and Islam. His message is unambiguous: it's time to reassess our political choices and prioritize principles over power.h

In an era marked by shifting political alliances and allegiances, Azmin's scrutiny of Anwar's actions serves as a stark reminder of the importance of holding leaders accountable and staying true to the principles that underpin any political struggle.

The ultimate decision rests with all Malaysians, who must now decide whether they are willing to continue down this uncertain path or demand more from their leaders.

The call for principle over power resonates as a beacon of hope in these turbulent times.

So, do not be fooled by empty promises.
