SHAH ALAM – Bersatu’s youth wing Armada has hit back at Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal over his accusations against the party following the Registrar of Societies’ (RoS) decision to cancel Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) registration, blaming Pas leaders for the coalition’s downfall.

Armada information chief Harris Idaham Rashid said Wan Fayhsal should not blame Bersatu for the deregistration, arguing that the party had lodged its complaint with RoS to defend its rights after allegedly being excluded from a PN Supreme Council meeting.

He was responding to a media statement by Wan Fayhsal, who leads Parti Wawasan Negara, accusing Bersatu of “backstabbing” and displaying “crocodile tears” following the decision.

“Wan Fayhsal should not blame Bersatu for the consequences of his own political manoeuvres, which have failed to achieve their intended objectives,” he said.

Harris said Bersatu’s complaint was not an act of betrayal but a principled move to uphold the coalition’s constitution and the law.

He said Bersatu’s representatives had allegedly been denied the right to attend, speak and vote at the PN Supreme Council meeting on July 16.

Harris said Bersatu had submitted eight arguments to RoS outlining alleged constitutional breaches, including the denial of attendance and voting rights, the absence of valid meeting notices, appointments to key coalition positions without unanimous consensus and alleged quorum defects during major decisions.

Other issues raised included changes to PN’s organisational structure without formal approval, shortcomings in record-keeping and the exclusion of a major component party from policy decisions.

He also accused Pas leaders of failing to provide sufficient justification in their response to RoS’ show-cause notice.

Harris specifically criticised Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, deputy president Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar and secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan over their handling of the dispute.

He alleged that Pas leaders had failed to convincingly address the grounds for cancellation under subparagraph 13(1)(c)(iv) of the Societies Act 1966, ultimately contributing to PN’s collapse.

Harris maintained that Bersatu’s complaint was based on concerns over constitutional compliance rather than an attempt to sabotage the coalition.

“Armada believes that the failure to manage the coalition according to its constitution and established procedures has brought PN to this point.

“The responsibility for this crisis must be borne by those entrusted with leading and administering the coalition, rather than being shifted to Bersatu for raising legitimate concerns,” he said.

RoS announced on Oct 20 that it had cancelled PN’s registration after finding that the coalition’s response failed to refute the grounds stated in its notice or provide sufficient justification for maintaining its registration under the Societies Act 1966.

Harris further alleged that Pas leaders had attempted to weaken Bersatu politically while creating an opportunity for Parti Wawasan Negara to take over Bersatu’s role within PN.

He argued that the party would struggle to gain political traction without the coalition as its platform.

“Today’s political reality proves that the political appeal of Parti Wawasan Negara, without the umbrella and platform of Perikatan Nasional, is almost zero.

“Any attempt to take advantage of PN’s political support for the sake of political survival will ultimately fail,” he said.
