Arthur Fery pays tribute to ‘greatest of all time’ Roger Federer after beating Grigor Dimitrov

British wildcard Arthur Fery honoured the “greatest of all time” Roger Federer after beating Grigor Dimitrov in an epic five-set comeback to reach the quarter-finals.

The 23-year-old Fery, born to French parents but raised five minutes away from Wimbledon, arrived at the Championship as a wildcard and ranked 114, with only two Grand Slam victories to his name.

After beating Dimitrov in front of Federer on Monday (7 July), he said: “ I grew up five minutes from here. I grew up coming to watch matches on this court. We've got probably the greatest of all time watching in the front row over there.”

The camera then panned to Federer who clapped Fery and gave a warm thumbs up.
