LABUAN: Two chambers here are at odds over the urgency and benefit from building a multi-billion ringgit bridge linking the island to mainland Sabah.
The Labuan Chamber of Commerce (LCC) acknowledged the government’s decision not to prioritise the bridge proposal but said it did not mean the bridge is insignificant for Labuan’s economy.
LCC Chairman Daniel Doughty urged his Labuan Indian Chamber of Commerce counterpart Dhalif Singh and chairman of the ferry operator, Mainland Link, to accept that the proposed bridge is needed for the benefit of both shores.
