Villarreal and Spain star Pau Torres is set to join Aston Villa on a five-year deal.
The central defender, who was linked to Manchester United for several years, is on his way to the Premier League.
Per Fabrizio Romano, the stopper will be the second signing for manager Unai Emery at Villa this summer.
The Midlands club have also secured Youri Tielemans on a free transfer from Leicester City.
Villa are set to pay around 35 million for Torres, while there will be add-ons in the deal as well.
The 26-year-old had a much higher release clause, but Villa have negotiated down the fee.
