Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone was picked up by a TV mic ordering his players to "stop playing" after taking a late lead against Real Sociedad.
Atletico won 2-1 on Sunday thanks to an 89th minute penalty converted by Antoine Griezmann.
Before the restart, Simeone was seen on the touchline shouting: "Pum! No more playing!"
Atletico's players heeded the coach's orders and saw out the game with a minimum of fuss on the day.
Simeone later said: "The truth is that after seeing the effort that the boys continue to make in this marathon of games, it is something to be proud of.
"I feel proud. Having a team of players who continue to compete as they do is something to be proud of."
