
The Office for Transportation Security (OTS) late on Friday said that a passenger from Australia bound for Cebu reported to authorities that cash amounting to P7,000 went missing at Terminal 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
In a statement, the OTS said the passenger was bound for Cebu via Cebu Pacific Flight 5J 565.
The agency said they took action to validate the information and also initiating a fact-finding investigation.
Also, the OTS said they were coordinating with the New NAIA Infra Corp. and the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group in looking for the suspect.
“We do not tolerate such acts within our organization. Any violation of trust or misconduct will be thoroughly investigated, and those found responsible,” OTS Administrator Gilberto Cruz said in a statement.
The OTS said the personnel involved was fired, while the fact-finding investigation is ongoing.
