
An awareness campaign on the theme ‘Prevention of Child Marriage’ was organised at St Anne’s Convent School, Chandigarh, to sensitise students and the community about the harmful effects of child marriage. An essay-writing competition was organised in which students expressed their views on the importance of education and the need to eradicate child marriage. The participants actively shared thoughtful and meaningful ideas through their essays. A poster-making activity was also held, during which students prepared attractive and informative posters carrying messages such as “Say No to Child Marriage" and “Let Children Dream, Not Marry". The posters highlighted the importance of protecting children’s rights and promoting girls’ education. As part of the campaign, a rally was organised on the school campus. Students carried placards and raised slogans against child marriage to spread awareness among the public. Addressing the students, Principal Sr Christy John urged them to become ambassadors of change and spread awareness among community members to help prevent child marriage.
