
Ayaan Garg has won the Chandigarh State Rapid Chess Championship-2026 with a score of six points, followed by Dishant Bansal at second position with 4.5 points, held at Sri Aurobindo School of Integral Education, Sector 27, recently.
In the state Blitz Chess Championship, Ekaaksha Partap Singh Negi won the title by scoring six points, while Amogh Agrawal posted five points to finish second. The group of Ayaan Garg, Dishant Bansal, Ekaaksha Partap Singh Negi and Amogh Agrawal have been selected to represent Chandigarh in the National Rapid and Blitz Championship in Tamil Nadu from December 12 to 14.
In the rapid event, Amittej Kalia, Amogh Agrawal and Shashank Seshan also scored 4.5 points each, while Atharv Singh Negi, Ekaaksha Partap Singh Negi, Ayan Bhardwaj and Reyansh Midha, all scored four points each. At 3.5 points each, Prabhav Atwal, Pratyush Singh, Aaditya Pajni, Shivansh Singla and Anushka Dhingra trailed, followed by Abhinav Bansal, Shreyash Singh, Jayant Atwal, Sukant Mohindra, Hardik Pathak and Hridhaan Sikka at three points each.
The pack of Jiaana Garg, Tejas Rai Aggarwal, Dhruv Vats, Aadvik Thakur, Yaksh Kataria and Bhavika Sood scored 2.5 points each. Aarna Sehgal and Shreyan Sharma (two points), Chetanya Sharma, Ibaadat Kaur and Navi Raghav (1.5 points) and Vrenya Sharma, Inaayat Kaur and Hitvi Sikka (one point) were the other performers.
In the Blitz event, Ayaan Garg scored 4.5 points, followed by Jayant Atwal, Amittej Kalia, Atharv Singh Negi, Dishant Bansal, Sukant Mohindra and Abhinav Bansal at four points each. Reyansh Midha (3.5 points), Shashank Seshan, Aaditya Pajni, Pratyush Singh, Dhruv Vats, Shivansh Singla, Prabhav Atwal, Geetansh Soni, and Shreyash Singh (three points), Anushka Dhingra and Chetanya Sharma (2.5 points), Tejas Rai Aggarwal, Ayan Bhardwaj, Hridhaan Sikka, Aarna Sehgal, and Jiaana Garg (two points) and Aadvik Thakur and Hitvi Sikka (one point) were the other performers.
