Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania have condemned the crash of a Russian drone into a residential building in the eastern Romanian city of Galați.
"Russia’s escalation of its brutal war is unacceptable," wrote Estonian President Alar Karis on the X platform on Friday.
His Lithuanian counterpart, Gitanas Nausėda, described it as a "blatant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Romania and the basic principles of international law."
Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs posted that his country "stands in full solidarity with our ally Romania and is prepared to support appropriate measures to prevent such violations."
The drone’s impact in Galati sparked a fire on the 10th floor of the block of flats and injured two people, prompting condemnation of Russia from NATO and EU officials.
Since Russia began its war on Ukraine, there have also been several incidents involving drones in the Baltic States, which has led to tensions with Moscow.
