Import Kentrell Barkley scored eight of Blackwater’s last 10 points as the Bossing shocked the Magnolia Hotshots, 89-81, for their second straight win in the PBA Season 50 Governors’ Cup on Friday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
The do-it-all American rescued Blackwater from the jaw of defeat, putting in shot after shot to secure the team’s 2-0 start and a fitting followup to the Bossing’s 23-point win against Rain or Shine last week.
Barkley finished with 26 points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots for Blackwater, which secured first place at Group B.
The Hotshots dropped to 0-2.
Guard RK Ilagan chipped in 20 points, rookie Dalph Panopio added 12 while Sedrick Barefield scored 10.
KJ Buffen led the Hotshots with 32 points, Jerom Lastimosa 11 and Ian Sangalang 10.
