Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB) has finalised proposed realignments across eight Bas.My routes to optimise bus operations following a surge to 367,798 passengers as of Sept 20.
Sabah CVLB Chairman Senator Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe (pic) said the realignments, targeted for completion on Oct 15, will cover at least 70 per cent of Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) key routes, expanding to Tanjung Aru, Luyang Clinic, Likas Women and Children’s Hospital, Bandar Sierra, and Kota Kinabalu High School.
The board discussed close coordination with the Public Works Department (JKR), DBKK, and key stakeholders to establish vital infrastructure, including bus stops, lay-bys, and bus boxes at critical spots in the near future.
Phoong also directed stepped-up monitoring and enforcement over Bas.My operations to ensure compliance with operating conditions and maintain orderly passenger service.
Additionally, Phoong stressed the need to improve commercial vehicle licensing delivery by eliminating bureaucratic red tape, particularly unnecessary supporting documentation such as business agreements and bankruptcy reports that do not directly affect licensing objectives.
