Bayern Munich have agreed to sign Morocco World Cup star Ismael Saibari on a contract running until June 2031, the German record champions said on Wednesday.
The forward's contract at PSV Eindhoven had been due to run until June 30 2029 and media reports say Bayern will pay €55 million ($62 million).
The 25-year-old Saibari has already attracted international attention at the World Cup with his opening goal in the first group match against Brazil (1-1). He then scored the quick 1-0 winner against Scotland and a goal in the 4-2 win over Haiti.
Saibari sealed qualification for the last 16 in the penalty shoot-out against the Netherlands by converting the decisive kick.
"We are very happy to have secured one of the most exciting attacking players of this World Cup for Bayern in Ismael Saibari," board member for sport Max Eberl said in a statement.
Salibari is set to deputize for main striker Harry Kane but can also play wide or as a number 10.
"As a child you dream of signing a contract at a club like Bayern - everyone knows that this is one of the biggest clubs in the world," Saibari said.
"Bayern's style suits me, I can play my game here and I will work hard every day to help the team." Bayern coach Vincent Kompany played a major role in his decision, Saibari stressed.
It is unclear if he has already had a medical in the US while on World Cup duty.
