Bhavan Vidyalaya, New Chandigarh, organised its second Book Fair on the occasion of the Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) Day. The event was formally inaugurated by Principal Inderpreet Kaur. Conducted on the school premises in collaboration with Scholastic India, the Book Fair received an enthusiastic response from students and parents alike. As a prelude to the event, a two-day book browsing session was organised for students of classes I to XI. The session provided students with an opportunity to explore a diverse collection of books and identify titles suited to their interests and reading levels. In preparation for the fair, students displayed remarkable enthusiasm and initiative by actively promoting the event across the campus through posters and peer interactions, thereby encouraging greater participation within the school community. The book fair featured an extensive collection of books, including fiction, non-fiction, reference materials, educational resources and children’s literature. The primary objective of the initiative was to cultivate reading habits among students, enhance their literary interests and encourage independent learning beyond the classroom. The event created a vibrant academic atmosphere and reaffirmed the school’s commitment to fostering literacy, intellectual curiosity, and a lifelong appreciation for reading among students.
