A district organisational meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party was held under the chairmanship of district president Nipun Sharma, with BJP national secretary and Punjab co-incharge Dr Narendra Singh Raina attending as the chief guest. Punjab BJP general secretary Rakesh Rathore and district incharge Rakesh Sharma were also present on behalf of the state organisation.

Senior party leaders, including former Union ministers Som Prakash Kaith and Vijay Sampla, former MP Avinash Rai Khanna, former ministers Tikshan Sud and Bibi Mohinder Kaur Josh, state secretary Meenu Sethi, Nimisha Mehta and Dr Dilbag Rai, welcomed Dr Raina at the meeting.

Addressing mandal presidents and office-bearers, Dr Raina held detailed discussions on organisational activities and stressed the need to strengthen booth-level committees in view of the upcoming municipal body and Assembly elections. He said the BJP’s strength depends on a strong and active presence at the booth level.

Calling upon party workers to safeguard Punjab and “Punjabiyat," Dr Raina urged them to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level and work with dedication to ensure a BJP government in the state in the coming Assembly elections.
