Blackwater ends 3-game skid, upsets Phoenix

MANILA, Philippines — Blackwater ended its three-game losing skid after knocking off Phoenix Super LPG, 106-100 on Wednesday in their PBA Season 50 Governors’ Cup match at the Araneta Coliseum.

Despite falling behind by 15 points ar one point, the Bossing managed to bounce back behind Fil-American guard Sedrick Barefield, who delivered 11 points in the last period to spark his team’s mighty comeback.

Blackwater went on to outscore Phoenix, 29-14 in the last period en route to pulling off the hard-earned win.

The Bossing improved to an even 3-3 card, while the loss pulled the Fuel Masters down to a share of the top of the standings with the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.

Kentrell Barkley led Blackwater with 34 points and 16 rebounds, while Barefield chipped in 24.

RK Ilagan had 15 and six, while James Una scored eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

The Phoenix loss saw import Robert Johnson III saw his 45-point explosion go to waste.
