Kota Kinabalu: Economist Prof Dr Gunter Pauli, known globally as the founder of the Blue Economy concept, has been appointed as Sabah’s Blue Economy Advisor.
He received his letter of appointment from Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor during a meeting at Menara Kinabalu here on Monday.
The meeting touched on the future direction of Sabah’s Blue Economy initiatives and how they could generate new income streams for the state.
Pauli, who is also a keynote speaker, will address delegates at the Third Asean Blue Economy Forum 2025 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) on Monday.
Also in attendance were State Secretary Datuk Seri Safar Untong and Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) Secretariat Chief Coordinating Officer Datuk Rosmadi Sulai.
