
ISKANDAR PUTERI – Barisan Nasional (BN) has officially secured a landslide victory in the 16th Johor state election after winning 48 of the 56 seats in the State Legislative Assembly, the Election Commission (EC) announced on Sunday at 1.30am.
EC chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun announced the official results during a press conference at the Sultan Ismail Building in Kota Iskandar.
“These are the official results of the 16th Johor state election, which was conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner.
“BN has won 48 seats, while Pakatan Harapan (PH) secured eight seats,” he said.
Ramlan said voter turnout stood at 68.73 per cent, with 1.87 million voters casting their ballots.
The figure includes early voters, postal voters and ordinary voters.
“Overall, the EC is satisfied with the voting process held on July 11, 2026. Registered voters were able to exercise their rights and fulfil their responsibilities.
“There were no untoward incidents that affected the electoral process during the 16th Johor state election.
“In carrying out the election, the EC adhered to all laws and regulations that govern the electoral process,” he said.
The EC said the full results of the 16th Johor state election are available on its official results dashboard and through the MySPR Semak application.
