
SEMPORNA: The Marine Police Force (MPF) here seized a boat with petrol, which was believed to be smuggled out to the neighbouring country, off Tanjung Manimpa, Pulau Bum Bum waters on Saturday.
The MPF team was patrolling during Ops Taring Gelora at the areas when they spotted a boat in suspicious manner.
When approached, the skipper sped off towards the mangrove areas and escaped.
The team inspected the boat and discovered nine jerry cans containing 30 litres of petrol inside the boat.

He added that all the seizures, worth RM15,553, will be handed over to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) for further action.
