
KENINGAU: The body of a Sabah Electricity (SE) staff who went missing after being swept away by floodwaters has been recovered after an intensive three-day search operation.
Masedeh Rosmin, 35, was found at 6.18pm Thursday by the Galen Star Team in a river at Kampung Liau Laut, here.
He had disappeared Tuesday night while attempting to cross a bridge at Kampung Nuntunan Apin-Apin with two colleagues, who managed to escape safely.
The search operation, led by Keningau Fire Station Chief Severinus @ Mohd Nidzam Sainkui, covered a 40km radius along the Pagalan River.
Search teams focused on Kampung Linsudan area after discovering the victim’s shoes near the village river located 21km from where he initially went missing.
Fire and rescue teams, assisted by other emergency agencies and drone units, worked tirelessly before successfully locating the body. The body has been handed over to police for further action.
Sabah Electricity expressed deep sorrow over the loss and extended condolences to the bereaved family.
The company also thanked all authorities involved in the search mission, including the Galen Star Team, police, Fire and Rescue Department, Civil Defence Force and SE staff who participated in the rescue efforts.
