Kota Kinabalu: Twins Nurul Ayunni and Nurul Alyssa Junaidi delivered another gold medal in the women’s doubles for Sabah at the 36th Interstate Tenpin Bowling Championship at the Sunway Megalanes, Sunway Pyramid, Selangor on Monday.

The two former national youth players captured the title with a total 2581 pin falls ahead of Kuala Lumpur (2559) and Sarawak (2536).

The pair had started slow and were in third place with 448 in the opening game behind leaders Kuala Lumpur (533) and Kedah (470), but a superb 495 in their second game saw them take over the top spot and followed up with 424 and 474 before finishing with 382 and 358 to take the top prize.

Meanwhile, Sabah’s second pair, Intan Qistina Tamring and Siti Nurafiqah Abdul Satal narrowly missed the podium by just nine pins after finishing in fourth place with a total of 2527.
