
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah tenpin bowling team will be hoping to defend the girls’ youth overall title at the 36th Malaysian Interstate Bowling Championship to be held at the Sunway Megalanes, Sunway Pyramid, Selangor starting today (Saturday).
Last year, the team represented by Nurul Amirah Amirul, Intan Qistina Tamring, Chloe Ho Rui Zhi and Nur Jeehan Iezzaty successfully retained their title for the third consecutive year with two golds, one silver and two bronzes to top the medal tally.
Sabah Tenpin Bowling Association president Rozzainny Sham Talib said he prays and hopes the State athletes will be able to produce their best to deliver the goods.
“We are represented by a 22-member squad to compete in the Youth, Open and Senior categories in the four-day event.
“A final training session was held yesterday (Thursday) preceded by the Sabah flag handover ceremony held at KK Galaxy Bowl, Centrepoint Sabah,” he said.
Meanwhile, the contingent with 14 officials led by deputy president Aisyah Abdullah left for the National capital on Friday morning.
