Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury may finally be edging closer to reality after years of failed negotiations and missed opportunities.
The long-discussed heavyweight showdown has resurfaced after Gareth A. Davies reported that both fighters have already signed an agreement to face each other in a blockbuster bout expected to be broadcast on Netflix.
The fight would represent one of the biggest events in modern boxing if it goes ahead. However, several details remain unclear.
Gareth A. Davies reveals possible timeline for Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury

According to Davies, the two British heavyweights have signed contracts for the contest, although the exact date has not yet been finalised. He suggested the bout could take place either late in 2026 or early in 2027.
If confirmed, the event would mark one of the most commercially significant fights in boxing history. Joshua and Fury have spent years dominating the British heavyweight scene, and a meeting between them has been repeatedly discussed but never delivered.
A Netflix broadcast would also represent a major shift in boxing distribution, reflecting the growing influence of the American streaming platform in combat sports.
Regarding that, one crucial complication remains: Joshua’s exclusivity agreement with streaming platform DAZN, which broadcasts his fights.
That arrangement was bypassed in his Netflix fight with Jake Paul after a £10 million deal was reached, but a showdown with Fury would likely require tough negotiations.
Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury currently on different paths
While the potential fight generates excitement, both fighters are currently focused on separate priorities.
According to talkSPORT, Joshua is close to returning to training after stepping away from the gym following a tragic car crash in Nigeria in December that killed two of his close friends.
Fury, meanwhile, is preparing for his next fight. The former world champion is currently in training camp ahead of a bout against Russian heavyweight Arslanbek Makhmudov scheduled for 11 April.
Those fights and circumstances could influence when the long-awaited Joshua vs Fury clash finally happens, even if the agreement is already in place.
