Speculation around a long-awaited clash between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury has resurfaced once again. The heavyweight bout has been discussed for years but has repeatedly failed to materialise.
Momentum appeared to build earlier this year, with renewed talks and shifting timelines. However, Joshua’s recent circumstances have also complicated matters.
A car accident in December, which claimed the lives of two close friends, disrupted AJ’s plans, setting up Fury to face Arslanbek Makhmudov on 11 April.
Still, talk about the fight gained traction again last Friday.
Kalle Sauerland suggests Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua is agreed for autumn showdown

Kalle Sauerland, a leading boxing promoter and global head of boxing at Wasserman, has now added a fresh twist on Fury vs Joshua.
Speaking to iFL TV, he appeared to reveal more than intended about the situation. The 48-year-old said he had heard the fight was already agreed, pointing to a specific location and timeframe.
“I think Fury-AJ done for apparently Autumn in Dublin. Fantastic. That’s what I’ve heard, done for Dublin in, I think, September or October,” he revealed.
If accurate, that would mark a major breakthrough in a saga that has stalled multiple times. The fight has long been considered one of boxing’s biggest unrealised events despite years of negotiations.
Eddie Hearn has already denied any deal despite ongoing discussions around fight
Sauerland’s comments contrast sharply with Eddie Hearn’s recent stance. Last month, Joshua’s promoter had publicly rejected claims that any agreement is in place for the fight.
At the time, the Briton dismissed reports outright and insisted nothing had been finalised.
“Completely untrue. There is absolutely nothing signed with Anthony Joshua to fight Tyson Fury next. There is nothing agreed,” he said.
A few weeks later, Joshua returned to training, surprisingly choosing to do so alongside his former rival Oleksandr Usyk. Therefore, it would not be a shock if the previous plans for a Fury fight materialise this time.
