
Kota Kinabalu: Boys United Sr emerged champions and successfully defended their title in the second round of the Inanam Open Futsal League after edging Kaliangau FC 1-0 in the final held at Borneo Sport Arena Futsal Kelombong, Sunday.
As champions, Boys United Sr took home RM1,500 in cash, a cup and a trophy. Runners-up Kaliangau FC received RM1,000, a cup and medals, while third place went to Boys United Jr who walked away with RM800 and a cup.
A total of 18 teams competed in the tournament, organised in conjunction with National Day by Pemuda PGRS Inanam in collaboration with Kelab Usahawan Generasi Baru Sabah, carrying the theme “Belia Inspirasi Komuniti Aktif Bersukan” (Youth Inspiring Communities Through Active Sports).
The tournament was officiated by Pintasan Assemblyman and Assistant Youth and Sports Minister, Datuk Fairuz Renddan, while the prize-giving ceremony was carried out by the Chief Minister’s Political Secretary, Datuk Dr. Roland Chia Ming Shen.
Also present was Organising Chairman Fidelio Ray.
