Brazil overpowered Scotland in a 3-0 win on Wednesday to qualify to the World Cup knock-out stage as Group C winners, while Morocco are also through as runners-up after coming from behind to beat Haiti 4-2.

The Brazilians broke the deadlock in the seventh minute in a disastrous display of the Scottish defence. Vinicius Junior took advantage of it to tap the ball into an empty net.

Vinicius Jr had a second goal disallowed in the 22nd but it counted when he found the net again shortly before the break as Scotland again failed to clear the ball away.

Matheus Cunha completed the win in the 60th, smashing a cross from Bruno Guimarães between the posts.

The match marked the return of Neymar, who hadn't played for the national team since October 2023. He missed the first two group stage matches at the World Cup due to injury.

Haiti scored their first World Cup goal since 1974 to take the lead against Morocco in the 10th. Lenny Joseph flicked the ball into the net but FIFA credited the goal to Morocco keeper Yassine Bounou.

Achraf Hakimi levelled in the 39th but Haiti were ahead again in the 43rd through Wilson Isidor. Morocco, however, hit back before the break and equalized again thanks to Ismael Saibari.

They took the lead for the first time in the 78th with Soufiane Rahimi finishing off a corner and Gessime Yassine completed the turnaround in the 89th.

Scotland will still hope to qualify to the knock-outs as one of the best third-placed teams but Haiti are out.
